It may seem to simple, but mow it when you think it needs it. The specific length of time will vary based on weather conditions, fertilization amount, turf species, and how long or short you usually keep it growing.

The general rule is not to remove more than one-third of the length of the glass blade, so bear that in mind.

Your lawn will grow faster in spring and fall than in the summer months. The longer the grass is, the longer it takes to mow it, and in some cases, you may need to collect the clippings.

Both times are when the turf is actively growing. This process is stressful to the turf, so it should not be done when the plants are already stressed out.

We prefer to do this work in the fall after the summer heat and humidity have done their damage and your lawn looks its worst.

Fall seeding allows the grass plants to develop a robust root system and will be fully developed by the following summer.

This is not the case with spring aeration and overseeding, as the plants are still young when summer heat arrives.
